Westie with scabby lump over his back

My westie who 11 I think suffers with skin problems every now and then  , but now he has these scabby bumps/lumps over his body but they aren't effecting him I've tried to get rid of them by picking the scab off and washing him in tea tree shampoo and they went for about a day , he has become greasy and scabby again on his back and lower neck  it's only recently got them,  I tried bathing him as I have done it for 2 days now and nothing really working , so I was wondering if anyone had any idea of what it could be ?? Much apprecated if anyone can help if not it's a trip to the vets to see what's going on.

Agree with ginger that a visit to the Vet is probably your best course of action to try to determine what you are dealing with and the best treatment.

I can add that Westies can be afflicted with skin problems.  I am on the iPad so can't copy paste.

Google the National West Highland Terrier Club.  They should have a section on health that may address this issue.  Maybe try a search on skin conditions in the Westie and see if there are descriptions of what you might be dealing with.

I would not over bathe either.

Please come back and update.

I'm sorry, I can't really say I know what these recurrent lumps/scabs are. Tea Tree is a good antiseptic, but if they don't heal, it's best to see the vet.
I wonder if too-frequent washing could be irritating to his skin? It might strip him of natural oils which are to some extent protective....

But the washing might be just since you have noticed the scabs.
I think the best thing is to have these checked out (and maybe a skin scraping taken?)
