What can be done for my dog's split nail?

My Amstaff has split his nail all the way to the pad and it is causing him a lot of pain and discomfort. Is there anything I can do until I can get him into the vet? Also, can you give me an estimate of how much it would cost to have him sedated and the nail removed? I understand that each vet is different and the cost depends on the area you live in as well. I was just hoping you could give me some sort of number so I know the range of what the cost could possibly be. Thanks!

I would contact vet myself, or I would use super clue and be careful not to get the clue everywhere....superglue is used also on cuts just like a bandaid...

Maybe superglue the nail, and redo periodically, and find a way to wrapp the paw to give the nail time to heal and grow...
Or contact your vet...
Keep us posted on outcome,,,,curious to see how this goes...and welcome to the dog forum...
