Yelping while scooting

My 16yr Pom has been scooting for a mth now however her glands r empty ( just brought her to vet 4x in a mth) thinking it's her glands..today she yelped while scooting, it scared me, my husband ck her glands and where empty ( he knows how to tell there full, as our vet showed us), this baffles me, scares me at the same time, I hate to think she's in any pain as I love her to pieces. Please if anyone has any ideas of what could cause this I would so appreciate your ideas...thx

I brought her to vet that day, xrayed bones, full examinations, etc, they found detoriation of her bones at end of spine area,(apparently normal for her age),  there observation was she was scooting so hard that it caused her pain in the lower back area, gosh hard to c my boo aging.... Tks so much for your input.

Well the one sure fire way to tell when your baby is in pain, check the white of their eyes, if they are blood shot, then there is something to be concerned about. I'm not sure why your baby would be yelping, but perhaps its something to do with her hips? She is 16. Have they done any sort of testing with her bones?

Or maybe the glands are empty, but could be inflamed or even infected. Sometimes when you empty their glands it can get tender....
