broken jaw on left side

I have a puppy that broke her jaw on the left side my vet quoted me at 500.00-1000.00 I was denied for care credit and I do not have ccrd. I have no family that can help is there any assistance programs that may be able to help. I am the only one working and I only make 400.00 every two weeks.

Do call your local SPCA and Humane Society locations.  If you're in a large enough city, these shelters are large enough that some offer free or low-cost vet care to the public.

Another place to try is a university with a vet program.  You'll never know if you don't make the calls.  If you can post your general location, maybe some members here will have some specific locations for you to call.

If worse comes to worst, you may have to surrender your puppy to the SPCA so they can provide treatment and hopefully find him a new home.  The hard truth is that you are barely self-sufficient at this point in your life, and don't have the capability of taking care of an animal right now.  There's nothing to be ashamed about being poor, but you still have to do right by the puppy.  You literally cannot afford to treat him, but you are responsible for his welfare.  Aside from the surgery, are you able to pay for vaccinations and heartworm preventive?  As the puppy grows, will you be able to afford to feed him?  Based on what you've told us, you can't afford another mouth to feed right now, and it will probably be in the pup's best interest to find him a home with someone who can.  Check online for various rescue organizations in your area.  Some are breed-specific but will still take on dogs of other breeds in special circumstances.

Sorry to hear about your puppy's mishap.  Here is a web address for a page with dozens and dozens of links for organizations that provide charitable care for pets whose owners can't afford expensive treatments.  Hopefully one of them will be able to provide you with assistance for your puppy.  http://www.pgaa.com/animalhelp.html

I would also get on the phone and call every vet in your area and even some that you might have to drive a while to get to, explain the situation to them, and see if they can set up a payment plan for you.  There just may be some old time country vet out there somewhere who will be willing to help you despite your inability to come up with hundreds of dollars right off the bat.

I just have to throw this in here, because it's a good opportunity for me to say this.  I don't understand this situation at all.  Yes, I realize that there are lots of people who have stiffed their vets and haven't paid their bills.  However, there are many more who HAVE made good on what was owed.  A vet takes an oath to "First, do no harm".  Allowing a puppy to sit with a broken jaw is not "doing no harm".  It's allowing a puppy to live in pain and not be able to eat properly, if at all, until something is done about it.  The puppy's owner is trying to do right by her pet by taking him to a vet.  If she doesn't take him to the vet, the SPCA won't bat an eye over arresting her for animal cruelty for allowing her puppy to have a broken jaw.  Well, what about the vet who refuses to treat same said puppy because the owner doesn't have the money?  THAT'S not animal cruelty???  Yet, if the owner surrenders the puppy and a shelter has to have the puppy operated on, the vet will either do the surgery for free or at a very reduced rate.  Why can't they cooperate with owners like they cooperate with rescue groups and shelters?  If they did, there would be a lot fewer dogs and cats in rescues and shelters in the first place.  I just don't get it.  Sorry, I'll get off my soapbox now.

I am soo sorry about your puppy.  Did you ask the vet if he would work with you on a payment plan?  If he will not, see if you can find someone who will.  There has to be a way to get this done and quickly.
