cruciate ligament

My 12 year old male dog has cruciate ligament  injury and is limping he also is a little overweight and I cant afford the operation for him is their anything i can do to help him any tablets or swimming anything.   what can I do to help his recovery..Any info would be appreciated .

Zubrin is a good medication for this sort of thing. Before we had our mastiff operated on, the vet prescribed it and it worked wonders.

Sorry you can't afford the surgery. It isn't exactly cheap, I know that. Try and get as much weight off him as possible. It's make him more comfortable.

Talk to your vet about other anti-inflamitory drugs and doggie pain meds.

In my experience though, ZUBRIN tops the list of drugs that have good results.

thank you I will ask vet we go back after xmas, he made me feel so bad because not having op but its just too much money for me and my other dog has cancer so I need to keep budget for her, over the years I've probaly paid for the vets house,but I dont work anymore and funds are limited, he doesn't seem to be in pain and stil wants to be active its just he's getting old and fat and i know his weight is going to be a problem for him and have cut back on quantities but the vet doent think he will loose the weight.
