Excessive Dog flatulence is a sign of digestion problems.......It can be as simple as he may be a gulper and swallows too much air with food to something more serious....

Normally, it's his food not agreeing with his digestive tract.....If you feed a grocery store/discount center brand of food, you need to upgrade....

Please, check out "Dogfood Analysis.com" and look up your food in their search box....They rate foods from 1-6 stars...6 being the best...See where your food rates (& what their review states),  then to an upgrade to a higher quality product....It will better for him longterm....

If you need more resources to check out what you feed, I can provide them.....Dogfood analysis is my favorite.....Good luck and let us know what happens....Karla

Has he recently been on antibiotics? Or within the past few months?
If so, they can upset the natural gut bacteria. Though the dog probably won't feel ill because of it, it is good to get the balance back. A probiotic like natural "live" yogurt will help.
Other medications could affect the natural gut bacteria too.
Whether he's been on antibiotics or not, you could still try this.

The problem is also likely to be food-related. What does he normally eat every day? (including small treats etc)
