Excellent advice, merceditas. Ciprodex otic is an antibiotic ear drop that combines the antibiotic ciprofloxacin with the glucocorticoid steroid dexamethasone. While both of these things are safe to use on a dog, human-strength drugs are often too strong to be used on our much-smaller four-legged companions, and what starts out as a well-meaning gesture quickly turns into a medical emergency far bigger than the original problem. Your vet can advise you as to the safety of using this medicine on your dog. Please post back with your findings.
Ghilly
If the vet said you should use it then yes, but even when you apply it in the ear it's absorbed and reachs the blood. I'd say wait and ask the vet, maybe just one drop has more drug that your dog can take...just call him on the phone and ask, it's better than spending more money if it happens to be bad for the dog!
