How is little Tizzy doing these days? God bless her! (and you!)
Our shih tzu has always bounced - bounces up the stairs, bounces on the furniture - bounces everywhere. Rawhide (our shih tzu) is going to be three yrs old in the fall. Initially, there was supposedly some problems with his nasal passages being too small but he outgrew that. He chews his feet, from boredom I think so we shaved them (which he hated) and put cream on them. He eats J/D and T/D and lots of treats. He is one of four dogs so he's quite sociable - he's going to be a "therapy" dog if we can ever control the bouncing!!!!
I hope you are enjoying your "little girl". It sounds like you really love and care about her. Shih tzus are really special little guys/girls - so are most dogs.
Do you have any pictures of her? Would really like to see some if you do.

We only feed dry food. Our 7.5# doxie puppy eats about 1/2 cup of food twice a day. We offer him food at noon, but he usually won't eat it.
Feeding amounts are usually right on the dog food box or bag. Use it as a guideline. Be sure your puppy is gaining appropriately, and consult your vet if she's not.
lol she walks.runs , she very very active we are so loving her , shes rotton just like my little boy shihtzu was. we take her everywhere if we leave her you would think she was being killed they way she yells, but i guess when she walks she walks never saw one bounce, we are so in love shes are angel. how old is your shih and have you ever had p[roblems with skin allergies . whjat do you feed your.
It sounds like whatever you're feeding her is fine.
Our shih tzu gained most of his weight while he was a puppy; he's now three yrs old and weighs 15-20 lbs. He's gotten a bit tubby over the winter but now is outside more with the other dogs and hopefully will soon be his old "supermodel" self again.
When he was a puppy we fed him P/D - dry food. The vet has never been concerned about his weight - the shih tzu's I mean.
Hope you enjoy your "girl". I'm curious - does she walk or bounce. Some shih tzu's (maybe it's just mine) bounces rather than walks. Please post here anytime and let folks know how she is doing.

Personally, I think what you’re feeding her sounds fine.
Your vet should be weighing her each time she has a vaccination and will be able to tell you if she is gaining weight healthily. If she is under weight or over, the vet should recommend how to adjust her food.
she is a baby shihztu, when i got her she weight 3.3 pds this morning shes at 4 , wow am i feeding her to much dont want her to be over weight. ive had her a week so what ya think. am only giving her dry life abundance food she loves it and treats that are low/lean in fat to potty train her . what ya think.
When I got my puppy, the breeder gave me some dry food for that night and told me what brand of food they were feeding the dogs. I was told to continue feeding him the same brand for a few weeks. If I wanted to change the food, I should do it gradually by mixing the old food with the new food.
I am going through the same dilemma as you at the moment. My puppy is 9 weeks. My breeders recomended only dry food but other people have been telling me to also use 'wet' food.
Hope you figure it out.
What breed of dog is she?
