I was prescribed a product from my vet called Vet Flex. it is for horses but they use it on dogs as well and said to have good luck with it. it has the 10,000 mg of glucosomine and a few other good ingredients higher in dosage. He prescribed 8cc for a 65 lb dog with spondylosis. Only been using it 3 days so cant tell you how good it is helping. shes in pain so i think this is really good for her. My question is...how long can they take it at that amount and it be safe?
Hello, I am sorry your question got missed.
I am really unsure. I could tell you the amounts of Glucosamine and Chondroitin for your dog, (ie for a 50lb dog it's 1000mg Glucosamine and 400mg Chondroitin, add or subtract percentages according to your dog's weight) and also that Boswellia can be used as an anti-inflammatory for dogs, but am not sure about Yucca. It's probably fine, but dogs can't take everything that would be OK for horses.
I wish I knew. Anyway I can bump up your post in case anyone can help you.
Another thing to consider would be -would those ingredients (Boswellia and Yucca) be ok for YOUR dog? Even if they are generally fine, they might be ingredients that might not suit your dog, if for example he(?) has other health issues, sensitivities, or is on any other prescribed medications.
Could you ask your vet?
