its hard not knowing why my healthy dog screamed and then died

my yellow labdied yesterday in the middle of the night. she wasn't sick at all and very healthy. during the middle of the night I woke up to her kinda screaming/ howling for a minute and twitching. I called her name but I didn't think much of it at the time because she has always made noises when she sleeps and twitches. but when I got up in the morning she was stiff. and I feel so bad because now I realize that she really was screaming right as she was dying and It never crossed my mind that that was what was happening. I feel terrible. it wasn't her time she had a few years left. can you tell me what might have caused her to scream in pain like that just before she died. she didn't really move at all because she was laying exacty how she always does. I cant stand not knowing. I know its just a dog but I miss her so much it hurts. like my stomache is in my throat all the time. please reply

I am so sorry to read this and my heart goes out to you.  
Unless you have the Vet do a necropsy, there is really no way to tell the definite cause.  Could have heart, an internal bleed, tumor, seizure, etc.
