my dog died suddenly

My dog died suddenly yesterday. I am so heart broken and lost and not knowing why she died. Chelsea was a terrier mix and 14 years old. She was fine the day before, active and ran around like normal. Did not have any major health problems what so ever, except for occasional ear infections.  However, I noticed that she has been tired and lied around more often than usual, and didn't eat much.  Last week, when I took her for a walk, her front leg got limpy for a few minutes, but got better latter in the day.  And she walked normal again.
Yesterday morning, she woke up, feeling lethargic, unable to walk and fell to the floor.  We took her to the vet immediately, and started having seizure at the clinic.  The vet there administered diazepam to control it, and told us to take her to the emergency right away.  She died while we're on our way to the emergency.  Please let me know what could her caused her death so sudden like that.  Did I do something wrong or not notice that she was sick?
Please let me know. Thank you. Chelsea

Our dog died Thursday morning. It's really rough. I think a natural part of the process is asking yourself every detail and if you could have done anything different.
You were very good to her. She died knowing you loved her. You did your very best.

I'm so terribly sorry for your loss. I do know how hard it is.

Sorry Chelsea, it's so sad when your dog dies, especially suddenly like that. They really are the best friend we could ever have, and I dread the day when mine dies. But I guess that's the best promise we could make to them; to be around for them right up to the last day, and some.....  And you were.
I don't think you did anything wrong. It's really hard to pick up on a dog's signals....are they sick? Are they just tired? Are they just having an 'off' day (like all of us) Did they just step on a little stone, and THAT'S why they're limping? It is so hard to know. And most dogs don't appreciate being fussed over, so they hate that kind of attention.
I don't know why your dog died. But I am so sorry for the loss of your friend.
