my dog woke up having trouble walking

He hasnt left the bedroom and wont try to stand up. So i took a look at his paws and noticed that his rear paws r swollen so i tried to guide him to stand snd realized that its his hind end he is having problems with particularily his rear right side. I havent got a clue asvto what this could be he doesnt seem to b responding when i ask if he wants a cookie (treat) normally his ears would jump to attention. He seems to be sapping his mouth alot also. Other than paws being swollen the only other thing i noticed was his claws were fairly long so i thought about trimming thrm but not if. His paws r swollen. He a staffshire pitbull and will be turning 4 this september and is the calmest well behaved dog ive ever had or seen. If anyone has any advice please share your thoughts.

Hi. Don't try cutting his nails ... if the paws are swollen (possibly due to infection) it will be extremely painful. Leave the nails until the infection has been treated and the swelling has gone down. You really do need to see a vet over this.

Hi there, It seems a bit strange for the two back paws to be swollen, could it be an allergy that has caused the swelling, you could give your dog an anti histamine tablet, it will be ok to give your dog the ones you get for humans. I hope he hasn't come into contact with a poison of some sort as this would make him salivate and lick his mouth a lot. You may have to get him to the vet soon. Hope he is ok.
