puppy w seizures

my 2 1/2 yr old dog just started seizing the past 3 days. her blood work was fine, and my vet said she is healthy. she had three the first day, 2 the second, and none today. am putting her on sodium bromide, rescue remedy, and acupuncture. i want to know if there are other solutions that are effective. also if there is something good to do during a seizure. i give her a spoonful of natural van ice cream after each one. is that okay or good? thank you

so sorry to hear about your dog.  Mine died the day after she had her first seizure.  She was a pure breed maltese almost 2 years old, 4 lb - very small so the doctor thought maybe she had a congenital defect, liver shunt.  Never had the time to find out the cause.  I am also searching for answers, but from what I have read, having 3 seizures a day seems a lot.  In case your dog has liver shunt, keep her on low protein diet and don't feed her any "beef" treats.  I read that seizures can be treated with valium and phenobarbitol.  Ask her vet.  Watch her behaviour very closely.  If she is showing fear, pacing, disorientation, not eating well, drooling a bit etc, she is having "petite" seizures.  Most of all, Love her alot every moment!

So sorry to hear your puppy is seizing!  By stating her blood work is fine and the vet says she's healthy, I assume you mean that she does not have epilepsy?  What other tests have been run?  There are many causes of seizures.
Dogs are lactose intolerant so you should not give them ice cream except for the few kinds that are made especially for dogs.  Matter of fact, I would have to say you should probably restrict your puppy's diet to high quality puppy foods and treats especially since you do not know the cause of the seizures.
Try to keep a log of events, food, etc that are occurring daily so you can help the vet try to figure out what is wrong.  If this vet is not helpful, try another and another until you find out what is causing the seizures.

Good luck and lots of love to your furry friend.
