separating dog sex?

I have two dogs a boy and a girl. The male is the father of the girl. I separate them when they are not supervised but today the male happened to get into the female's cage and they ended up getting "stuck" have sex. I started freaking out especialy because the female is only 1 year old and is very tiny being a yorkshire terrior (3lb). So i definately didn't want them have sex. I started scream at them at the top of my lungs trying to see if maybe they can come apart, I then opened the cage and called the female over trying to see if maybe if she is walking they will come apart but still no luck. I then started kicking and throwing everything around them and screaming. Within minutes they were separated is it possible that he let go because he was scared or did he finish the act and she is now most likely pregnant? and is there any way to seperate dogs when they are stuck?please help

How about having them "fixed"?  Then you won't have to worry about unauthorized hookups.  :-)

I too experienced this heart stopping mistake (oh NOOOOOOOOO!!) and even used a cold garden hose water, In my opinion once it starts it ain't over till it's over. The only way to be sure is wait a couple weeks and get to your vet. a male dog will do things that are thought to be impossible to get to a female in heat so sorry:{ good luck!!!!
