If there is a lot of very dark brown, tarry looking gook in there then chances are it's ear mites.  Ear mites are not difficult to get rid of but you have to be diligent with the treatments otherwise they can hang on for quite a while and cause your dog a lot of discomfort in the form of severe itching.  Scratching because of the itching can lead to chronic ear infections which can lead to many problems later on, so it behooves you to go after those mites with both barrels so that your dog can be comfortable again.

Have you taken her to the Vet yet...?
If you have, and the infection is not clearing up, it could be due to a fungal disease, or mites. If that is the case, she will need different meds to get rid of the problem.
