Get the drawer where normally condoms are stored, leave open, move the condoms to another safer location, out of site/smell, out of mind.
Then buy a rubber safe dog toy, cut a slit, good size slit w/knife, and put a treat inside the rubber animal safe toy, he will get that, then next time, shut the drawer, put the toy w/treat inside on the nightstand, then next time, let him see you fill the toy w/treat and give to him, then next time continue to fill the toy w/treat and throw, he will no longer go back to the drawer.
P.S. Spray the drawer w/lysol or generic dysenifect spray to distract the condom odor.
He doesn't like the condom, he just wants attention like human 2 yrs olds. And, he'll do just fine..FYI, condoms are very unsafe for animals, the latex can stop breathing passage like a balloon caught in throat, or stick to their intestines and cause severe issues later...Give your pet a hug for me!:o)
I don't really think it is anything to worry about. I think it is just the smell or maybe a chemical that they are attracted to.
My family dog, when i was growing up, found a whole packet of sanitary pads in the bathroom cupboard, took them and chewed them up.
If she has swallowed them, you might want to make sure she passes them. Gross, I know.
