POTS

I have postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome. The beta blocker Im on seems to lower my heart rate, but when I stand up to walk I still get chest and throat tightness, feel like my heart is beating in my throat, lightheadedness, and just a spaced out feeling. Does this every go away? Are there meds. for this?
I dont want to sit all day and I would like to get back to work? Anyone else like this?

I was put on Clonidine for almost a year now and so far it has helped me, I'm on a very low dosage, 0.025mg in the am and lunch and 0.050mg at dinner and bedtime, it took a few months to find the right combination, I still get the chest pounding and bp still rises at times more than other times but overal is better.

I had the light headed problem on Lopressor generic.  Have you taken your blood pressure and pulse laying and then standing while on the medication to see if it is really helping the standing pulse and blood pressure situation?  It doesn't sound to me like the medication is all that helpful to you & you might want to tell your doctor you want to try discontinuing it and see if you feel any better?  I know I stopped the Lopressor generic because I didn't like the way it made me feel.
