dysautonomia and sexuality

My 15 y.o. daughter has been diagnosed with dysautonomia.  She identifies as asexual.  I've read that dysautonomia can affect sexual functioning in males but could affect sexual interest in an adolescent female?

Thank you.  My research also has found a connection between dysautonomia and sexual functioning.  However, when I spoke to the doctor she didn't think it was related to asexuality.

Hey .... my mother would have probably said the same thing about ME when I was a tween-early teen and it couldn't have been further from the truth.  Be glad your 15 year old daughter is not overtly sexual.  It could also just be an embarrassing topic for her to discuss with you. I think that was my problem at that age.  I'm betting she'll grow out of it.  Or she might not.  Even now, as a 28 year old woman men and relationships are not my favorite topic with my mother.  ;)

Hi!

I honestly don't know. But being asexual is not so bad, is it? When I was a teenager I would have been better off with less of a sex drive.

I don't want to sound as if I am not serious but sex is kind of a meaningless hobby in itself. I can just imagine all the time I could have spent learning languages or something else if I hadn't spent 90% of my time thinking about women.

I think she should find a forum for asexual people so that she can speak to others in the same situation.

And about family and kids and so on; you never know how things will be 10 years from now. And there are asexual couples who have children and live fulfilling lives, so don't view this as a main handicap. The dysautonomia in itself is probably a much bigger problem.
