9 Days of sickness, Now have "lump" in throat, excessive saliva, ANXIETY!

I went out on New Years Eve, was in the cold for quite a long time. The next day I felt fine, but once again, was in cold for a good 2 hours at least. After that, I woke up with a Cough and Ear Ache in the middle of the night. That morning I woke up with a sore throat and a popped ear (same ear). The sore throat lasted a few days, the popped ear was gone within 2. Its been 9 days now, and I feel much better. I have had a lot less cough. I still dont feel 100% . I feel like i have a lump in my throat, making swallowing a struggle. When I clear my throat, I cough up normal light green/white phlegm.

I am a smoker ( Only for a little over a year)
I have a bad anxiety problem.
I am age 18.

Please I need answers, my anxiety is driving me crazy. I always think the worst of things, but I dont like this one.

Phlegm that is colored is NOT normal from a smoker or a non-smoker or whether it is in the morning, night, etc.

the phlegm im coughing up in the morning is the normality of phlegm coughed up by a normal smoker. I know many people who have this same issue

You probably should have your physician assess you especially since you are coughing up phlegm that is colored.

I hope you are NOT smoking until this is sorted out.

Do you think it can be anything serious? Or am i just freaking out over a cold? My mom believes i just have a cold, a long with my girlfriend. They think its all in my head due to anxiety... I kinda believe them, but a part of my anxiety is not too...

A 'lump' in your throat that 'makes swallowing a struggle' needs to be seen by a MD...your family doctor should be able to address that...and your anxiety, too.
