Even though try to swallow it, was in vain. And while I am sleeping, I feel dry throat.  What causes this discomfort and how can I ger rid of this.

Hi Xmat,

I had my tonsillectomy 3 weeks ago. I get the same problem. When I wake in the mornings I have a dry throat sort of like a sore throat and then it disappears when I drink water. This is common for people to experience dry throat or mild sore throat months after tonsillectomy. I also have this mucus thing on the back of my thraot as well. Doesnt seem to move when I swallow. Have you tried gargling since your surgery. This might help. This doesnt seem like its anything to be alarmed about. I have the same thing when I wake up. I just drink lots of water when I wake up and the dry throat goes away.

It may be nothing.  But to make sure one has to see into your throat. It is better you contact your ENT
