I have had the same thing for 8 weeks....I've tried daBroc's ear wax removal kit from Target for $7.99 and then use warm water with white vinegar....that was from my doctor....to me the stuffyness is in the etasian tube aft the drum, so sudafed works some.....the ear canal in my left ear is not straight, it is crooked....warm water is best, not too hot. It feels like a wad of cotton is stuck in my ear....hearing loss is 30%, I estimate. My right ear is fine, thank goodness.
The left ear rings some too....my doctor says it's a fungal infection....you have to let the virus run it's course.....sudafed and warm water irrigation is the key to solveing it.
Best regards, Baxter
Here is one good news post.
My Ear problem timeline:
Cure was Time and Snorting and flushed with bottled water.
The timeline: For about a year (2015) something caused me to constantly want to snort as if some Phlegm needed clearing but no Phlegm was there. (maybe eustachian tube blockage).
December 2015 woke up one day with left ear plugged then later visible swelling in left ear. (took ear pics showing swelling Jan 30).
Sometime in February swelling down, tried Ear Wax Removal drops from time to time and flushed with filtered water once or twice.
March 6th while still lying in bed the snorting seemed different, (i'm thinking the eustachian tube clearing) and there were small popping sounds as if a little bit of ear clearing. When I got out of bed I used the small squeeze bulb that came with the Ear Wax Removal kit to flush left ear. A few small specks of dark colored wax came out, not much.
Later when watching TV I realized the hearing was back.
That was a couple of hours ago, we'll see if it's permanent, so far so good.
Maybe could have cleared sooner if I had known but some things take time.
Try ujjayi slow pranayyam with hissing sound, and longer exhalation than inhalation.try exhalation thr left nostril only.
I have had to clean the yellow pollen from my pool twice in two weeks and after taking a walk I started getting dizzy even tho my nose was clear, my ears stopped clicking and I was soon losing my balance and getting sick. So being careful to follow the doctors instructions I pumped one spray into my bad nostril and within 30 minutes I was feeling great.
Since this started years ago I must keep my right ear clicking to stay healthy. No clicking then it is only a matter of time before I start to lose my balance.
I have not had a vertigo attack since I learned how to aim the nasal spray plus I don't wake up at 3am with my nose stopped up.
From March 2008 I have suffered from 3 to 4 bouts of vertigo a week, each time starts with me getting wobbly and sick and ends with me lying flat in bed with a blanket over me, if I so much as lift an arm I start spinning.
I have made a very bad mistake: I paid hundreds of dollars and waited in line for hours and when the doc asked me if I knew how to use the nasal spray, I would be offended and said, "of course I do", but of course I didn't.
Just recently I learned how to aim the nasal spray and it makes all the difference in the world.
Here is how and why to aim the nasal spray: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AdX5SXcqNyI
