Can deaf people hear voices?

I want to help my grandma,she's 80 years old ,she wasn't born deaf,she started developng it from age 40,and went completely deaf by the age of 75.,on one ear she's completely deaf,on the other one she has like 20-30% accuracy,she complains that she hears all kind of voices in the deaf side.She hears people talking to hear,she hears most f these voices from someone she dislikes,I really want t help her but no one has an idea what it can be..the voices started when she went completely deaf one ear,and now it's so intense its unbearable,do you guys have any ideas what may the cause be?
