Chronic Sinus Infection / 3 Surgies..Help!

Hello there,

I have been suffering from Sinus infections for over 10 years.  I had 3 surgies (endoscopic and sinuplasty), and nothing has helped.  I have been treated for allergies and immune disorders.  All of my results came back ok.

I was wodnering if anyone had any recommendations or possible causes.  My docotor wants to do a fourth surgery just to clean out the sinus areas.  I really do not want another surgery since the previous ones did not help.  All I want is answer to what is causing the infection.  I have been to multiple doctors and hositplats, even May Clinic.  No one really knows the cause.  I don't understand how they can fix the problem or do surgery if they do not know the cause.

Yes, I have tried sinus rinses, herbs, and holistic care.  Nothing has seemed to help.  It's sad when you have 7-8 infections a year.  Pleae respond back if you have any suggestions or if your in the same boat.

Thanks!

Never mind what I said about Pneumovax, I did some research and it's been on the market for a decade and your doctors would known about it if you had an infection of this sort.  I'm guessing that you have a persistent infection by something else and it's not uncommon for it to grow back after surgery.  Unless your ostia (the openings of the sinuses) are scarred shut, a flip-turn sinus flush will remove it, but you'll have to be more persitent than the microbes.

I had the same problem, tried everything medical short of surgery--no way they're sticking that thing up my nose.

Finally, I discovered the FlipTurn Sinus Flush.  It came about because the saline sinus rinse would not reach up into the part of my sinuses where the infection was, because of gravity.  Simple solution--bend over!  Of course, it's risky to do so in a shower, which is the best place, but you could do it in the yard or something.  Here's instructions.

Don't worry, medical research done by the Mayo Clinic explains why it works.  After clearing up my years-long chronic infection, it has worked on every acute infection since.
I've had perfectly clear sinuses for the last 12 months.

One other thing--my brother found out that he has a genetic immunodeficiency against the streptococcus pneumoniae microbe, of which there are many strains.  His doctor said that this problem isn't rare, and gave him a new vaccine called "Pneumovax".  Ask your physician about that, as it is a relatively recent discovery.
