Hi! I have been battling a cough for well over a year now. It seems that the last time I got a cold (almost 2 years ago), afterwards, I developed this horrible cough that just doesn't go away. Every time after eating or drinking something, I start coughing and producing mucus, and my airways feel like they are closing in a bit. Intermittently through the day, I will feel this without eating or drinking, and a few times through the day produce mucus. It is typically colorless, but occasionally slightly yellow--sometimes with small strands of blood. This happens every day upon waking. I wake up feeling like there is mucus backed up inside my larynx, and often hack to get it out, producing sometimes large amounts of phlegm. Also, often during the day I will get allergy like symptoms--just this morning my airways felt like they were closing in, and I began to develop a cough and runny nose. I don't think it is asthma because this is a constantly occurring thing.
Also, in one of my Anatomy classes at school, I checked my vital capacity and it was seemingly pretty low for someone for my age, height, and with no history of smoking. My respiratory rate was 12/min, and I'm not anemic. I have no other symptoms beside respiratory system symptoms, except I am prone to getting migraines, but they don't feel like sinus related migraines.
