Dead animal smell coming from nose....

Just got a sinus infection I believe. I havent had one before, but from the jaw, eye sockets, nose, ears.....the total face as been in discomfort and pain with much pressure. Went to the Med center finally and got an antibiotic. Doctor really didnt say much about the smell, it always there most of the time, but when I blow my nose it smells not like poop, but like rotten worms in my tackle box, close to a dead rotten animal. Im hoping this will go away with the anitbiotic, but after reading these comments, I doubt it. Of course it has effected my breath and it's not as bad. My wife says she cant smell anything, but she said if it smell that bad she doesnt want to be forced to smell and potential throwup as her tolerance to things like this is zero. Any new sugguestions, let me know. I wil scroll all the way down and see what I come up with.

dont know if this helps. Had never had a sinus infection. Then one week, I had that pain feeling in my sinuses. You know, you press on the areas etc. I also had a mild headache. Constant for a week. Enough that It got on my nerves. Looking online and youtube.... I saw folks who squeeze lemon/lime juice and snort it up the nose. Many of these folks didnt want to take antibiotics.  I had a good idea the Dr would also give me antibiotics. Well, I have a Mexican Lime tree in my yard. So I went home and squeezed some limes, filtered the juice through a coffee filter to get the little pieces out. Then snorted it.  HOLY MOLY..... yeah- it stings. I started to gag/cough. In no time I was leaned over- with big green buggers coming out of my nose.
I continued to blow my nose etc. As soon as it was done coming out... I realized the headache I had for a week, was gone. GONE!
I did this juice therapy the next morning and next afternoon. 3 times total. No more as to not irritate the sinuses. But After the 3 sessions..... the sinus issue and headaches went away.
I read that the lime juice also has antibiotic properties.
My brother in law also tried this when he had Sinus headaches. Helped him too.

The doctor diagnosed a sinus infection, and you are correct, antibiotics aren't very effective for this type, according to recent studies, but give it a chance.  If that doesn't work, a sinus flush is effective against infections of the upper sinuses, where regular saline irrigation doesn't work due to gravity

The Flip-Turn Sinus Flush is mildly risky, because you have to bend over to do it, preferably in a shower, but you can also do it outside on soft ground, or you can kneel down and lean over a bathtub, or perhaps a plastic basin or tub, with the shower running for steam.
