Deviated Septum Nasal Surgery - Felling Lightheaded & tough to breath

Hi Everyone,

In Aug 2008 I had a Deviated Septum Nasal Surgery, I had all the common reaction with tons of bleeding for 1 - 2 weeks till my nose healed.  I always felt even after surgery my nose felt stuff or swollen & I found myself having trouble breathing.  Well this continues for a few months.  On Sept 29th 2008 I spayed Afrin up my nose for the 1st time for 2 spays each & felt really high for a few seconds.  I went down stairs talk to a co-worker for 20 - 30 minutes left his desk and had the sensation I was going to pass out.  I felt that I was going to die that second and can feel myself loosing conscious, my palms & feel where freezing & really sweaty.  I also had the shake & went through a cold sweat till about a few hours later I stabilize and got better.

Since than I been away from coffee, afrin, junk food, & any stimulants.  Even after all this I still felt a little light headed all day like I'm having trouble breathing through my nose.  10 days later I has a 2nd episode when I thought I was going to pass out, due to feeling lighted, cold clammy hands & feet & having trouble breathing through my nose.  This started making me think it was not the afrin that did this to me.

The 3rd episode was the worse that happen on 10/18/08 roughly 1 week after my 2nd event.  By this time I been walking daily and detoxing my body.

This is what I notice about my lightheadedness
It worsens when: Stand, Walk, Specially Talk, or use some sort of energy, but it seams to get worse when I mess with my breathing flow like talking.  It also gets really bad when I just breathe through my nose & I start feeling lightheaded like in 15 - 20 seconds.

What do I feel: My nose feel stuffy/swollen like I'm breathing through a very small straw, the tip of my nose feels numb, I get very lightheaded like I'm hyperventilating without the fast breathing or have the sensation that someone is pull a string from my nose that you can feel to the top of my head that makes you want to pass out.  I become very shaky and my feet & palms become very sweaty.  I also feel my head to be alot hotter than the rest of my body like heat flashes

I'm only 30 years old before the Deviated Septum Nasal Surgery I was fine very stuff but away from hospitals.  Now I'm always lighted and some days are so bad I find myself in the hospital.

Good news & Bad news.

Good news: My blood, oxygen level, heart, & every test they give you in the emergency rooms come out normal.  Even my MRI Brain Scan was perfect.

I went back to my surgeon and he said it must be something else and not my nose, I notice he does not even look into my nose and said it can't be the nose causing the lightheadedness.

Bad news is everything perfect but the way I feel......

I'm open to all advices, I'm a really bad writer but I hope I made enough sense for you to understand and maybe give me some helpful advice.

I have had almost the same exact experience.  I had my septoplasty and adenoids removed in October of 2010.  3 weeks after the surgery, I got a nasty virus that left me hugging the toilet for 2 days.  I then developed a weird feeling between my eyes.  Over time, this turned into a lightheadedness or dizziness (sense of motion with out seeing motion).

I have been to the ENT, a specialist at the University of PA Hospital, and now a neurologist.  No one can figure out why I get this.

It gets worse while driving, talking, changes in weather, changes in temperature.  Lights bother me and so do loud noises.  It happens on a daily basis.

The neurologist thinks it is vestibular migraines.  I am not denying that I get migraines.  That I do, and they have increased since the surgery.  I'm just not convinced that they are causing this dizziness/lightheadness through out the day on a daily basis.
