Dizziness after vertigo

I had a severe bout of vertigo that lasted 2 days back in 2001.  I have never felt right since.  I have a lightheadedness/dizzy feeling all the time.  Been to every dr and had all kinds of ENT testing done.  Nothing has helped.  This was the second time I had vertigo.  The first was in 1996.  It lasted 2 days then also and I didn't feel right afterwards until about 14 months later.  Then I was back to normal.  It has been terrible this time around.  I don't want to live like this forever.  Can anyone help??

I can relate to this problem. I suffered from a severe bout of dizziness about 4 years ago. Vestibular rehab did not work. It was terrible for a month. Then I recovered slowly. But I have not felt right since ten. I suffer from dizzinness every now and then. There are moments when I feel perfectly fine - then it comes again - causing anxiety. I find reading and concentrating very hard. Homeopathic tabs "Vertigoheel" seem to provide some relief. Smell of mint oil also eases it a bit. Please try. I wish you the best.

Have you had vestibular rehabilitation therapy (VRT)? It can be very helpful for getting people feeling better after damage to the vestibular system.

Ask your ear specialist for a referral to a physical therapist who specializes in vestibular rehab. Or check the lists at www.vestibular.org.
