I'm feeling like I'm choking when I lay down on back

I'm worried there may be an issue with my throat. I've always seemed like it's been hard to breathe. I've had a tonsillectomy and missed fundoplication surgeries. I've also been treated for sleep apnea. Now I'm always swallowing and coughing to clear my throat. Especially, when I'm on my back. Any help is appreciated.
