Is it okay to blow my nose to try to get the stoppage out?

I had several nasal polyps removed yesterday. At first, my nose was clear, and I was able to flush out the nose cavity with a bottle and chemical they gave me to use.

However, hours later the cavity is getting stopped-up again, and my attempt to flush out the cavity was unsuccessful. It is too stopped-up for the water to go in through one nostril and out the other like it's supposed to.

Is it okay to blow my nose to try to get the stoppage out, and then do the flushing afterward? Or is blowing my nose a bad idea?

Note that my sinuses aren't dried out. They are moist I think.

So, with that surgery, congestion is what recovery looks like.  It probably feels like a bad cold.  And I'd definitely consult with your doctor before you do anything about it other than exactly what they told you. My understanding is you do NOT blow your nose for the first two weeks of recovery time.  You are trying to heal in there.  I would not blow.  That sense of congestion you have is normal and expected after this surgery.  Hang in there.  Call and touch base with your doc if you feel you need to but no blowing for two weeks.  Good luck!
