Is this scar tissue after tonsillectomy?

http://i1179.photobucket.com/albums/x385/ttugolfer73/492563dc.png. (click link to see post tonsillectomy pic)

I had a tonsillectomy six and a half weeks ago. One side of my throat looks almost normal. The other side looks like I have a lump where my tonsil was on that side. Is this normal looking? I am worried the surgeon messed up. He told me at 3 wks post op to stop looking in my throat and that he didn't want to see me again for future follow ups. I think it looks abnormal.

Could that be scar tissue? I am depressed and worried thinking the surgery was a flop. I am 37 and would not want to have that surgery again. It was horrible.
