Medium sized tender lump on the back of scalp

I have had this for over two weeks and it hasn't gone away, it started as a tiny small lump, I then scraped it/attempted to remove it and it became inflamed, hot, hard etc. etc. It seems to only get bigger when I play with it too much or try to scratch it off. Since yesterday it has become tender and movable, I can even squeeze it with my finger. I visited the doctor a few weeks ago about it and he said it was a school sore which I was skeptical about. I then (painfully) removed the scab and it once more become inflamed, settled down. Most interestingly, it doesn't feel like it is attached to the scalp, but rather is detached underneath the surface.
