Not healing right after tonsillectomy

I am 3 and a half weeks post tonsillectomy. I thought everything was ok until the scabs started falling off. There are lumps in both sides and while the right side looks better there is a grainy circular area that is still there. The left side looks worse more lumps and a deeper tonsil bed that doesn’t seem to be closing. I’m also having moderate pain in that side which radiates to the ear. I have a doctor appointment soon but wanted to see if anyone could relate.
