Pain behind the left ear and neck

Last month, within an hour, I felt a painful swelling behind my
left ear. I was given antibiotic which brought down the swelling
but the nagging tenderness and tightness behind my ear,
extending to my neck, persisted. I was given another dose of
antibiotic but the pain is still there which is more than a month
already. The pain is more obvious when I press behind and just
below the ear lobe. I had seen 4 doctors, including a dentist and ear,
nose and throat doctor but none of them could offer an explanation.
I was told to sit it out but I am travelling on an airplane soon and I
am worried what it can do to my ear.

They gave you an ANTIBIOTIC?  Did they think you were bit by something?

This sounds very strange to me.  What did they say you had?

How are you doing now?  Did the lump go away?  Had you been knocked unconcious before you got that pain, by chance?
