Painful yet invisible sores on tongue

I have been getting these very painful sores, usually on the tip of my tongue, that I can barely see, except for a tiny hole the size of a pin in the center.  Peroxide doesn't help much and eating makes it worse.  It is almost unbearable.  I have been very busy lately and haven't been able to ask my dentist, but I'm afraid he will just shrug anyway.  These sores are recurring and I usually have one coming or going.

Ive been dealing with the same thing for years. Now my wife is complaining of the same thing. No one knows what is causing it. Ive seen multiple doctors, dentist and an oral surgeon. Closest guess was an autoimmune disorder. I think its some sort of herpes simplex. They said it's not likely cancer. Kanka is my best advice to treat the pain

Hi, Are you still struggling with the tongue sores? I have a similar issue and it has been months. It affects only the tongue I have a similar issue and it has been months. It affects only the tongue but the doctor doesn't know what it is. I've been to two oral surgeons, and two infectious disease specialists. They are stumped. It is definitely contagious because there are four of us who have it, and we got it from kissing. It does not affect the genitals.or any other part of the mouth except for the tongue. It seems to get worse witg eating sugar or drinking alcohol.  but it also does not seem to go away. I have it the worse and I'm hoping that this is not permanent. Any thoughts? Anyone else experienced this?
