Picked nose by accident. Finger was dirty. Any risks?

It's as gross as it sounds, I was at work (my office is open at limited capacity due to covid). Nature called and lo and behold, I was sitting on the porcelain throne. When done I stand up and flush, and I notice in the mirror behind my toilet that I have a booger in my nose, so out of reaction (because, hey its night time who will care if I pick my nose in the bathroom) I pull my hand to my nose to start gold digging. Before I could even comprehend what was happening, the smell of a long hour at the superbowl is infiltrating my nose and despite that I quickly retract my hand, the smell is still there with a little dingleberry hanging from my nose hair. Panic Mode: Engage!

I wash my hands immediately and attempt to clean my nose as thoroughly as humanly possible without damaging it. And after a struggle I did. Now I'm worried there might be a risk of complications happening because of a reaction I get when I feel and see something in my nose. Are there any risks?

Oh I see you are concerned about bacteria from a bathroom.  Always best to wash your hands but doubt you'll get e coli of the nose!   We all have staph in and around our nose.  I don't think you would likely get this anymore from touching a handle than you would anywhere else.  Takes an opening in the skin to get a staph infection.  And MRSA is much more likely in a hospital toilet than a regular one.  I wouldn't worry if you have no symptoms.

Well, I understand your fear and concern. However, it is what it is.  We're in a pandemic. But you can't go crazy every time you forget and touch your face and nose.  I've done the same thing.  Everyone has.  The goal is to do your best.  Wash your hands often, use hand sanitizer.  Covid is not spread easily from surfaces.  It's more of an air thing that we get it through droplets we breath in.  Sure, there is a risk.  But really, the stars have line up perfectly for you to get covid from a quick nose pick.  Don't use cleaner in your nose.  Just blow your nose and go on with life.  You do sound pretty panicky and anxious.  Is this part of a pattern or a one time thing?
