Pinkish oval lesion in soft palate

Hello
I am 28/M/Indian  and went to dentist today for regular checkup, the dentist noticed an oval lesion in soft palate and refered me to ENT doctor. It is pink 9mm by 4 mm lesion on the right side deep soft palate, no symptoms (I did not know it existed), and no pain. I do not smoke but I am social drinker. I am panicking like hell. What should I do?

Hello and welcome to MedHelp's forums.  We are happy to have you here.  Have you seen the ENT as of yet?  This would be your next step.  They may look at the lesion as best they can as well as use a camera to inspect it. And they may biopsy it.  It is unlikely to be cancer which is always the fear people have.  But this must be ruled out.  Here is information on this  https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/soft-palate-cancer/symptoms-causes/syc-20354183.  This is not to worry you any more but just to encourage you to see the doctor to rule this out.

People also get lesions like this from infection, viral or fungal infection and inflammation. Even simple iron deficiency can cause oral lesions.  This lesion is likely viral or bacterial in nature and they can swab it to see. But please do follow up. We wish you the best and hope that you follow up with us.
