Problem with swallowing

I  have a problem where I have thick phelgm in my throat all the time, sometimes I cannot swallow, my mouth is constantly dry.  I went to the dentist to see if my salvilary glands could be blocked he said no, everything looked fine, he reccomended seeing an ENT, which I did th following week, he did blood work and was suspecting I might have Sjogren Snydrome, I tested negative for that, he then had me to have a full sinus xray, which is all normal...However I still have my problems and no solution.  My mouth if filled with phelgm all the time, my saliver is thick and sometimes I have problems swallowing and even breathing.  I can take a drink of water and it feels good for a split second but then it's all back again.  I drink planty of water and I mean plenty, I suck on lemon drops all day long.  Please I need help in what kind of a doctor could help me with this problem.  I do not want to live this way.  Can someone help me please.   Thanks

I've experienced symptoms of burning from esophogus into stomach and vice  versa even if I drank a bottle of water.  That's how bad I had mine.  I actually collapsed on the floor from pain and pressure in chest and stomach.  It felt like a heart-attach althoug it was not.  The shortness of breath is because the acid shoots up into the esophogus tube and inflames it immensely causing shortness of breath.  Good Luck.  The outcome is good if you keep up with your meds.  What are you taking currently?

I am curious with Sjogren Snydrome your mouth gets dry but why would that make your mouth fill with phlegm? I also do experience dry throat/mouth/nose but I have much phlegm. As I do more reading on this disease I notice that it can cause fungal infections as well. Can you let me know what your doctor told you about this disease I would appreciate it.

I have the same symptoms as you. Nystatin got me eating :) I am still following up with my ENT and may need from sinus surgery. Good Luck!
