Sick for 3&1/2 Months

I am getting concerned about my health.  I got really sick June 23rd of this year and was sick for almost a month with Flu-like symptoms but no fever.  I recovered from that and was well for a couple of weeks, then my son brought something home from school, and again I got sick.  My NP prescribed a z-pack of antibiotics, and I sort of recovered from it, but was still congested and nasaly.  2 weeks later, I got sick again.  My NP then prescribed Biaxin and I started that.  My body couldn't handle the biaxin so again she prescribed another z-pack.  I finished that and here it is 2 days later, and I am feeling run down again and now I have a spot under my left ear that is sore and my ear canal is sore as well.  My lungs are still congested and producing greenish mucous.  An ultrasound did reveal a small cyst on my thyroid, but no reall attention is being paid to that right now.  Something minor is also going on with my liver- my NP asked if I take a lot of tylenol.  Here's the thing- I hardly ever take Tylenol, and I hardly ever drink.  Can someone give me some insight as to what is happening with me?  Getting kinda scared.  Thanks

Again I thank you.  I know my symptoms are all over the map- it's just odd having all of them for so long.  Looking forward to seeing someone more knowledgeable.  Have a great night.

Sorry, you have such a broad range of symptoms -- none of which are very specific for a single diagnosis -- that it would really be wild speculation for me at this point.  I think you are making the right choice, though.  I need to reiterate that I am not coming down on NPs as a group -- many are excellent diagnosticians and you would be just as well seeing a different NP.  I just think that this specific provider does not seem to have a good grasp on what is going on.

Thank you so much.  I forgot to mention that I have been experiencing dizziness on a regular basis as well as a persistant cough.  Will try to see the actual doctor soon.  Any thoughts as to what is actually going on?

Not to disparage your NP, but I think he or she may be getting in over his/her head...Z-packs are commonly what people prescribe when they aren't really sure what to do!  And you have just received 2....It sounds like they don't know what they are treating and the answer to that is not more medicine, it's another set of eyes/hands.
