Something stuck in my throat feeling

HI.  I have had this feeling of something being stuck in my throat for a week now.   I went to the doctor today to hear nothing.  I was told my glands weren't swollen, my throat looked great, I was young, etc.  I have an appt. to come back in 3 weeks.  I was also told to drink a lot of fluids.  The next thing will be do a procedure where they look down my throat.  I came home and stuck my finger back where I thought the feeling was coming from.  I felt the flap of skin and about had a heart attack.  I have since looked that up and see it's the Epiglottis.  This seems to be where I feel like there is something lodged in my throat.  I'm just wondering if anyone else experienced this, what did you do for it, and when did it go away.  It's starting to really bother and worry me.  I was hoping the doctor appointment would make me feel better, but it did not.  Thanks!

I forgot to add in that I have no pain at all and can eat fine.  It's more of a bother when I'm not doing a thing.
