Cyst on Uvula

My 1 1/2 yr old son has a cyst attached to his uvula.  His pediatrician has never seen this before and the specialist is giving it 3 weeks or they will consider removing it.  Does anyone have any further information about a situation like this or a previous experience?

did you find solution yet? Today my 15 month daughter just saw specialist for her yellow cyst on uvula. We are given 3 months to make decision on the treatment. As we know, the frozen surgery would affect her little brain, but her cyst doesn't seem bothering her a lot.
Specialist also mentioned that the cyst could possible o rupture by itself, that would be best ending. but who knows? We will wait and see at this moment.

My daughter who is eight has had one since her toddler or preschool age. However my mother recently discovered it was gone. So I looked and sure enough it is gone. I did notice like two weeks ago give or take a few days, that it was no longer flushed with the surface of her Avula but protruded out like it was going to pop. I am thinking maybe that is what it did because it is gone. I am also wondering if that is why she has been sick for a few weeks. Fever, coughing, throwing up and complains of a sore throat and is always clearing her throat like it is irritated. I  read that it could be caused by poor oral hygiene but we brush her teeth and tongue, make sure as he glosses and uses mouth wash. She was plagued with strep throat a lot when she was younger and had tonsolitist a few times as well as many ear infection that required tubes put in. What about all your kids?

I would be interested in knowing more as well.  We believe my son was born with a cyst on his uvula.  His pedigrician noticed a small white bump when he was 6 months old.  We went to an ENT who said to ignore it and it wasn't anything to be concerned about.

He's 28 months old and I looked at it recently and it has grown quite a bit.  It's now the size of a pea.  I just took him to his pediatrician and he said it was nothing to worry about.  He thought it looked like a mucus cyst.

I just want to make sure I'm not ignoring a larger problem.  Does anyone else have any experience with this?

Hi moms! any update on your childs uvula cyst? im wondering coz My 8month old baby was diagnosed with a cyst in her uvula. Her ENT specialist said we'll have to closely monitor if its getting bigger and might have to have the cyst removed surgically if it does not go away soon. What can I do? I don't want my baby to go through anything traumatic. Kindly give me feedback, Thanks! beery_bautista***@****

Hi Miniplus, I am a 27 year old female from Ireland, I recently had a uvulaectomy due to two cysts that were found on my uvula. The uvula was getting swollen at night time and I would wake up in the morning unable to breath and would gag. My GP referred me to an ENT Specialist and they decided to remove my uvula altogether. I am glad to say that I am recovering well from the surgery but it was very painful, they gave me morphine like tablets which I had a bad reaction to and had to stop taking them. I have managed to recover without taking any painkillers what so ever. If you are concerned about your child I would advise you to ask your GP for a referral for a paediatric ENT Specialist in your area. They will be able to best advise you on the best course of action for your child. I will hopefully get the results of my biopsy on the 23rd of this month, so fingers crossed it will all be ok for me and your child.

My son is almost 11 months and he has a white cyst on his uvula. I am so concerned although the pediatrician isn't too concerned. She is referring me to a HNT doctor. I am worried that this could lead to other things. I just don't know anything about this and it worries me to think that my son would have to maybe have surgery. Help? Does anyone know more about this?

My daughter who is now 10 months old has had a cyst on her uvula as well probably since birth.  Her pediatricians never saw one there before either, but one of her drs were concerned because he kept referring to it as it being "baseline".  Although they keep an eye on it each month at her well baby visits, my husband and I are bringing her to an ENT specialist to look at it.  She coughs or gags somewhat what pretty persistant and before it gets worst or effects her breathing, we'd like to have a second opinion.  Will keep you posted.

I have a flesh colored nodule on my uvula that appeared suddenly several years ago but no one seems concerned.  Of course I'm 50 ish and and ex smoker.  Alot of drs have looked down my throat for other reasons but never said I had a problem even when I pointed out the growth.
