Stink smell passing into throat when inhaling through nose

I had a nasal surgery few years ago and since that time my sense of smell has increases tremendously. I can even smell any minute smells  that no one else can.

Also when inhaling through nose, the air/smell seems to pass on  from  my nose to the throat ..

I feel like whatever i inhale passes on into my throat.

I can bear with that except when it's something stink.

When it does happen, i can also kind of feel the bad taste it left .

I feel like spitting it out or gargling to get rid of the taste.

This is really ruining my life as it affects my normal life.

Everything was normal with me before i had this nasal surgery.

I'm ruining the day i made the decision to go for surgery.

Is there  anyone else who has had similar issues after a nasal surgery?

is there a solution to this problem?

i wil provide more details if they're neede.

Many thanks in advance for any advice or help.

Hi,

It's not due to sinus infection since i only smell stink when there's something that really stinks for example garbage.   It's also that my sense of smell is now much more than any other normal person's.

What i don't like is that it passes on to the throat which makes me feel ill.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello and hope you are doing well.

The smell could sometimes be due to sinus infections. More so if you have nasal blockage and facial pain or stuffiness. Have yourself evaluated for the same.

Hope this helped and do keep us posted.
