Strained feeling in the back of the throat when talking, then sore throat?

Good afternoon,

About 8 weeks ago, I had a bad cold complete with mucus and a bad cough.  It lasted about 2 weeks.  For a couple of weeks, I had a small, lingering cough that didn't produce any mucus.  For about the last 4 weeks, I've had problems saying words like "ball, small, call, young," and even other words where the back of my throat has a strained feeling when saying the words and my throat gets sore after talking for even a few minutes.  Over the last 10 days, my tongue has been sore after speaking too.  This is slowly getting worse.  Has anyone ever heard of this?  I'm very scared that this is something life altering :(.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.  Also, I'm a 33 year old male that has never smoked, drank, or done drugs.  Thanks everyone!
