Throat problems I think?

Hi, I just had a question to see if anyone has experienced this type of issue before. As of a few weeks now, I've noticed what I believe to be a lump feeling inside my throat maybe about 1/3 of the way down. It seems to be there then seems like it goes away. Seems like lately I'm always swallowing a lot or trying to clear what I think is just mucus from there. I did just get over being sick with a head cold and possible strep throat. The Dr. put me on Cephalexin for the sore throat and it's been a week now on the meds and although my sore throat is gone I still get that lump feeling. I feel no lumps on the outside of my neck and eating/drinking/taking meds is not affected. Voice is fine too. I do take Zantac a lot at the onset of heartburn and sometimes I get really bad heartburn and I know this can be related but I guess I always get worried about cancers and of course when you do a search on the web for throat cancer it pulls up "feeling of lump in throat" as a symptom so naturally I panic. No pain whatsoever is associated with this and I've tried coughing up stuff only to get mucous if that. No blood or anything weird. I'm 37 years old, male and unfortunetely smoke which makes me worried. Has anyone else experienced this and I just don't know if I need to be real worried or not.

I was doing a lot of research for myself with many problems that have happen to me and I did run across itchy ears and thyroid issues.  Maybe if you do a google with both in the same search? GOOD LUCK.. I just put some straight vinegar in my ears closed them up with cotton balls.. man the pain/burning after 5 min it was gone and I added in baby oil to smooth. NO itching so far, if is fungus the vinegar will work. I had a patch of fungus on my elbow not sure why may be cuz I work at a desk? I put vinegar on it 3 times a day for 2 days and it was all gone!! Dried all up. I have a enlarged thyroid but have symptons of a sluggish one, doent make any sense to me at all!!!

Is that usually a sign of Thyroid problems? I don't have unexpected weight loss/gain. Has anyone heard of Thyroid problems causing this?
