Tonsils Removed Over 10 Yrs Ago; Area Is Now Inflamed

For the past couple of weeks, I've been swallowing a LOT, due to the fact that I've had a mucusey feeling all along my throat, and I thought I might be getting a sore throat but when I eat and drink it seems normal, but when I talk it feels really sore and sometimes I can't even talk loudly, I think I'm losing my voice. I've looked at my throat and I've had other people look at my throat (including my doctor) but when my doctor looked at it she said it didn't look abnormal (but that was before it started getting worse) and when I look at it I notice that it's not in my throat at all, but right at the areas where my tonsils were (they were removed well over 10 years ago). At this point my tonsil "scars" I guess you'd call them, look extremely red and inflamed and they feel swollen, as in, when I swallow I feel like I'm trying to swallow a lump of tissue, mostly on the right side tonsil area. This is the first time I've had a problem with that area since before they were removed so long ago. Normally when I get a problem I look for the solution online but with this I can't find anything through searching, and I don't know how serious it is or how long it will last or anything that would make it better. Please help!

Out of desperation I glanced back to this board to see if anyone replied yet. Guess not. I posted last week, but now the sore tonsil areas have swollen to the point that I can't stop swallowing like its a natural instinct to try to swallow something big in my throat like that and it hurts so so bad, even when I eat or drink. My voice is nearly gone now, mostly due to the fact that I cough a lot. I cough myself to sleep often, and awhile ago I had such a coughing spell I couldn't breathe and I felt like I was going to vomit out my stomach contents. Not that it would matter anyway, I can hardly bring myself to eat and I've lost several pounds by now. Also through constant checking of my own throat in the mirror, I've noticed white blotches have begun to appear on the tonsil areas. Through my own research of looking through pictures of tonsillitis, it appears very similar to my condition. Everyone says there's nothing wrong with me. My boyfriend says if its a problem, my immune system will heal it. I had to change doctors due to the fact that my old doctor refuses to take my insurance now, and I am very poor to the point of having to rely on a tiny check from the state to live, so I can't afford the overly expensive doctors bills. My new doctor won't see me now. I've been calling and calling there for the past three days or so constantly, and they either tell me to call back later or have their phone off the hook. Since I never learned how to drive, I finally convinced someone to take me to the doctor's office. I saw a nurse who didn't even check anything and asked me how I was feeling. I tried to explain the situation to her and she scribbled a few things down and said she would call back later. When she called back after I had got home, she said the doctor had written me a prescription for an antihistamine medication. The doctor didn't even see me, and just assumed I had an allergy. I didn't bother to ask anyone to pick up the pointless pills. Now as I'm sitting here typing this, I'm wondering why users who frequent this forum tend to answer the hypochondriac posts sooner than the posts that are a true cry for help. I guess these types of sites are where the individuals deluded by their own brainwashed society hang out. The people I see when I go into town that once every couple of weeks. If any of you happen to be watching the idiot box and a news report comes on that explains how a 22 year old girl from some obscure place in North Carolina somehow managed to tear out the back of her throat and bleed to death due to frustrations over a bacterial infection, maybe it'll sound familiar. Or maybe it won't phase you at all, considering how common deaths are in the mainstream media these days. Either way I'll try not to let it happen. After all, I was kinda planning to tough it out until 2012...
