I've found a NEW TREATMENT that seems to be working so far and thought I would share it with you all.
I have nonallergic rhinitis- had a CT scan last year and everything was normal. I've been suffering for several years now with recurrent and chronic sinus infections. I've tried every medication the doctors can recommend- claritin in case I had undiagnosed allergies that didn't show up on allergy testing, corticosteroids, decogestants, asteopro, mast cell inhibitors, etc. etc. Nothing has helped. I usually end up on antibiotics 2-3 times a year. I finally got fed up with feeling miserable and begain looking into other treatments- lifestyle changes, experimental treatments, alternative medicine. Just trying to think outside the box. And I found something that works! It's called chlorhexidine and I have been using it for years on my pets for cleaning wounds, skin infections etc. My dog had a severe hot spot for months that didn't respond to treatment with antibiotics and steroid sprays and this stuff cured it in under a week. I then had success using it on the horses at work- it worked better than betadine. In people it works on mouth sores and infections. I thought what about sinus infections? Is it safe? Is there any research? Only research I found was done on rabbits with sinuitis but the results looked promising. It appears safe except for the rare case of anaphylactic shock.  So I put one drop (2% concentrated) in a 1cup of water and sprayed it up my nose 2x a day. AND IT WORKED within a few hours!!!!!  The correct dose is 0.06 and 0.03% concentrations of chlorhexidine, at least in rabbits. Higher doses caused cell irritation.

Here is a short version of the research that I found: Nasal infections mostly begin as viral infections and then turn into suppurative infection by bacterial overgrowth following mucosa damage which is caused by viral infection [1], [6]. Because nasal infection is the main source of sinusitis, preventing nasal infection means preventing a probable sinusitis. chlorhexidine is a wide spectrum antimicrobial agent which possesses antiviral, antibacterial and antifungal impact. [8]. By interacting with cell membrane, chlorhexidine prevents adhesion of microorganism to the cell and thus can be used to treat nasal and sinus infections no matter they are viral or bacterial  in origin.

I doubt anyone is worse than me. After 35 years of surgery after surgery. Dr after Dr --Cat scan after can scan, new meds after new meds, shot after shot, steroids after steroids, (I could go on forever).....I found a great Dr. in dallas. Dr. Marple Southwest Medical Center. Will only see the "major" messes.  The Wilson's solution is wonderful.........He treats things so differently than any other ENT.  I'm not fixed by any means (infact I feel bad tonight), but he's GOOD!

Does sinus draining have to be done with actual surgery? Is there an outpatient version? I've been diagnosed with pansinusitis with no visible blockage so I'm trying to find out what the ENT is likely to do about it. I have no history of previous sinus problems, and the sinus infection is bacterial, from a tooth infection. 3 courses of penicillin for the tooth infection, plus extraction, didn't cure the sinus infection. Now I'm on Levaquin and waiting for the ENT office to call me back for an appointment.

About two years ago, I was diagnosed with having chronic sinuitis but without being scanned or anything.  I am assuming the ENT doctor didn't do it because I was going to have surgery to shrink the turbinates(performed by her)-I couldn't breathe.  Lately I have been feeling pressure that starts around my nose and spreads to both eyes and a little bit over my right cheek.  I went to see her again but she did a scope and said that my airways are clear.  Can she tell if I have a sinus infection just by scoping? Or should I get scanned just to be sure?

I have chronic sinusitus....I also have an auto immune problem (Fibromyalgia).  I have had sinus issues for years and years though.  I get such pressure, and pain that I vomit (sometimes for a whole day)!.  I am currently on 3 wks of ammoxicillian....but I know the symptoms will return when I am off.  What kind of surgery did you have?
