dizzyx2 months, unequal pupils, floaters, ear problems

I am in need of some reassurance and advice. I am a 28 yo
female and generally in good health. About 2 months ago I woke up dizzy. My dizziness is not "room spinning" but rather feels like my head is heavy or I am floating on water (wavey feling). About 1 month into the dizziness I noticed my pupils were asymmetrical and started noticing lots of floaters in my visual field (these never go away -there 24/7). I went to a neurologist with dx me with bppv and had an MRI (w/ and w/o contrast) which was normal. I then went to an opthalmolgist who said my eyes were normal and couldn't explain the asymmetry in my pupils and floaters (he stated I may have Adies pupil). About 1.5 months into the dizziness my right ear began to pop and continues to "cringe" or "tense up" when I hear certain noises or scratch near my ear (per ENT there is "negative pressure" in that ear). I am scheduled for an ENG, BAER, and have an appt with a nueropthalmologist. So my questions for you follow....

1) could there be a relaionship b/w my dizziness, ears and unequal pupils/floaters?
Have you seen pts with these symptoms before.
2) would the MRI show malignancies in the ear?
3) Are there any other tests you recommend to r/o serious problems?
4) From the infor given, can you give any ideas of what I might have?

I appreciate your help

I  was diagnosed with BPPV by an ENT. I also was diagnosed with TMJ. I was given a mouth guard by my dentist to stop grinding my teeth. I do not have the spinning any longer but I do get a lightheaded feeling, mind not clear, headaches, ear and face pressure, my whole head hurts, back spasms and constant stiff neck. My glands swell, I go on antiobiotics and they go away, but as soon as I am off antibiotics after 10 days the glands swell again. Blood work all normal. Been to so many doctors, heart specialist, internist, ent, eye, neurologist, pain managment for accupuncture- ENT says BPPV does not cause the lightheadedness and glands. This has been going on for four months. It just seems crazy- I have a different symptom every day. Any suggestions?

Your symptoms sound a lot like mine.  I've had some dizziness (like on a boat) but attributed it to anxiety and thyroid issues.  After a whiplash in June 2007, the anxiety/dizziness/headaches worsened --  it was horrible.  I also noticed my pupils were different sizes.  Following the whiplash, I had left ear issues (felt plugged) but that has since gone.  I still have unequal pupils -- not too noticeable but if I tell someone they can tell.  I've had brain MRI (normal) and been to quite a few doctors who can't give me an answer.  I had the dizzy feeling go away for awhile but now it's back again -- more of a swaying or like the floor moves up towards me.  Worse when I lean over or after exercise or late afternoon (brain fog).  Could it be BPPV?  I don't know - haven't been tested, but I feel like I'm going to faint at times (never have) and just want to feel normal.

I am like jjkee - dizzy, spacey feeling, have vision problems including floaters, etc. Have had all the tests, etc, and it has been agreed upon that I have an inner ear disrder.  Next is to see an ENT to determine what kind, and what to do with it.  I smoke, greatly reduced mind you, as when I do, the funny feeling in my head increases...another sign of an inner ear thing going on.

haven't hit my head, but have been on several anti-biotics throughtout the past 6-8 months.  Non- would get rid of sinusitis.  Had this nasal surgery, not recovering well, it has been 8 weeks this week, my left eardrum is retracted.  Going to Neurologist, have to start allergy injections.. Not sure if surgery helped or is the cause for all of my symptoms I still have?

I too have had dizziness, not room spinning but like my head is jello and I get motion sick if I move head to quickly.  My vision has black floaties and my left  ear hurts and now pain is going down my neck.  I had septoplasy in November, had infections that 2 separate rounds of anti-biotics would not get rid of, have had pressure in face and behind eyes.  The pressure is gone for now, I have had Allergy testing, showing I am allergic to a great many things.  I have went to Primary dr. and have had blood tests, and MRI's, CT SCANS, X-RAYS and so on, I now am scheduled for second opinion ENT, and Neurologist?  I too have had it, it has been 4 months...

help!!
