ear pain + sinus infection

Hi,
My six year old is currently being treated for a sinus infection with an antibiotic and nose spray.  She is one day 7 of her 10 day scrip.  However, starting yesterday she has developed pain in her ears, which I am thinking is fluid pressure.  She is scheduled for an allergy test in less than 48 hours.  What can I do to ease the congestion in her ears besides giving her a decongestant?  Thanks!

Hello and hope you are doing well.

For pain relief you can use over-the-counter acetaminophen (Tylenol). Prescription ear drops such as antipyrine-benzocaine (Aurodex) may provide additional pain relief. If with the medications, her symptoms are worsening, then consult your doctor for an assessment to rule out an inner ear infection.

Hope this helped and do keep us posted.

Note to self:  No edit function available.  That should be "too" of course.

A warm, not to hot, 'hot' water bottle should help with the pain if you haven't tried that alread.  And, you know, plenty of water.

Curious about what antibiotic and nose spray she's receiving?

And hope she feels better soon.
