migraine headaches, bunch behind right ear

When I swallow I feel a bunch in my throat behind right ear canal. This is swollen and soar. Also have been getting migraine headaches that are soar to touch on right side crest of my head front to back. I have a deviated septum, and on right side of nose is a deformed bone. My optometrist says it's not from my Graves Disease. I also have been found to have MRSA in my nares. What can I do for migraines?

The MRSA is colonized and have been told will have it for life. As for finishing doses I could not because of allergic reactions to meds. As for migraine triggers the only ones I'm not exposed to are cigarettes and alcohol.

Hello and hope you are doing well.

The foul smelling discharge could be due to the persisting infection. For the MRSA, Did you ensure to take the medication regularly? Have you completed the course of the medication prescribed? As unfinished doses can further lead to resistance.  For the migraines, cure can be in terms of avoiding trigger factors.  You can prevent the occurrence of headaches by avoiding trigger factors that induce an attack. Alcohol, smoking, altered sleep patterns, missed meals, loud sounds, odd smells, physical or emotional stress and certain additive foods are known to trigger attacks. In short if you eat a well balanced diet, exercise moderately and lead a stress free life then you will be successful in preventing attacks.

Hope this helped and do keep us posted.

Can't take a lot of  antibiotics due to allergic reactions. The bunch has seems to come and go when a hard, yellowish, foal smelling substance comes off of back of throat.

Hello and hope you are doing well.

Looks like you have a sinus infection. This could be causing the facial pain and the lymph node swelling behind the ears. The best way to get to the bottom of your sinus issues is to see an ENT.  A good examination inside the nose with a camera might give the ENT more information as well as a CT scan of the sinuses. If it is a chronic sinus infection, 4-6 weeks of antibiotics are pretty standard in addition to nasal steroid sprays, oral steroids, and salt water irrigations of the sinuses.  If this fails to solve the problem, sinus surgery is usually recommended.

Hope this helped and do keep us posted.
