My voice as been hoarse for about 4 months and went to ENT and she said it was due to vocal cord inflamation and to much mucus. She told me to go buy Mucinex and take 2 tablets a day for 5days. Unfortunately the Mucinex made me ill and was wondering what else I can do to thin out the mucus. My concern is that I did have throat cancer two years ago with radiation treatment. That started with a hoarse voice. I have been waiting for 2 months for a referral to a different ENT.  Going to the doctors takes at least one month to get an appointment. Any suggestions would really be helpful. Will nose spray like Floronase help?

Hi !

It was the same for me. Even though I would feel excessive mucus after I ate, that wasn't always the case.

How did i get rid of that?

I did not have any infection in my throat and my lungs were find. What I had however, was an infection right were the mucus was. when i got a flu once, i used amoxiline and thanks be to God, I got rid of mucus and flu as well.

hope it is helpful
