Hi.
I guess mine is mobile in the way that it moves when swallowing. But not mobile in the way that I can grab it and roll it around between my fingers. I can't grab it at all. Does that mean anything?
And I have been to two different doctors three different times in the last two months. First was a clinic doctor she felt it and said lymph node. I went to an ENT and he felt it and said bone. I went back to the clinic doctor this past week and got blood tests done because I wanted to and everything came back normal. So I'm not really sure anymore.
Hello,
Thyroglossal cysts commonly present in first decade of life but can be seen in adults also. They cause fluctuant swellings in the midline of the neck along the line of thyroid descent. If it is a thyroglossal cyst it will move upwards when the patient protrudes the tongue. They are usually non-tender and mobile. Since it is mobile it is possible that it is a cyst. Few other differentials of your condition are lipoma, sebaceous cysts, cystic hygroma, enlarged lymph nodes etc.It is best to get it examined and evaluated. Treatment will depend on the cause.
Best luck and regards!
